Credentials Verification Service for
Credentials Verification Service for Aruba
Aruba
Certain health professionals who have been educated outside of Aruba and who wish to apply for registration to practice there must first apply to the Credentials Verification Service for Aruba (CVS-Aruba) at CGFNS International.
During this secure process, CGFNS International verifies and authenticates identity (ID) documents and academic and professional credentials. Applicants will also self-attest to their employment experience. CGFNS then prepares a report for the Department of Public Health Aruba, which is used to support the license/registration application there.
It is important to note that while applicants themselves may provide some of their documents (such as ID) directly to CGFNS for verification, educational and licensure information must come directly from the primary sources. CVS-Aruba will provide applicants with the forms they can send to the relevant authorities to facilitate this.
The CVS-Aruba verification process is required for the following internationally-educated professionals who wish to apply for registration in Aruba:
- General Nurses
- Nurse Specialists
- Nurse Practitioners
- Physician Assistants
- Psychologists
- Psychotherapists
- Clinical Physicists
Documents to be submitted
Submit notarized photocopies of two forms of identification (one being a passport) through the CGFNS Applicant Portal that verify your current name, with no abbreviations. Please do not mail us your original documents. CGFNS accepts only notarized photocopies of valid (not expired) identification cards and other acceptable documents.
In addition, you must submit additional identity documents to verify any other names that you once held that may appear on any documents CGFNS will receive from your educational institutions and license/registration authorities.
Acceptable forms of photo identification (ID) are:
- Passports (required)
- Driver’s license(s)
- Other official government-issued photo identification
Other acceptable forms of identification include:
- Birth certificates
- Marriage certificates
- Divorce certificates
- Legal name change affidavits
All photo IDs must include a clear photo of yourself and be current (not expired) at the time it is received by CGFNS. You must provide color copies of all documents, even if the originals are in black and white.
CGFNS requires that all documents we receive for CVS-Aruba must be in English, Dutch, or Spanish–if not, they must be accompanied by an English translation. For ID and other documents that you are permitted to submit directly to CGFNS, you must have the translation performed by a certified translator. (Please note that education and licensure documents must come directly to CGFNS from the primary sources. For those that cannot provide required translations, you may arrange for CGFNS to have your documents translated for a fee of US$85 per page.)
About submitting notarized photocopies
Depending on your country of citizenship, notary officials are typically called “notaries,” “public notaries,” or “notarial officers.”
You must be present with the notary official at the time your original documents are copied and notarized. The notary official is required to make a statement on all notarized identity document copies attesting that they have seen the original documents and that they certify the copies are “true copies” of the originals. If it is more convenient, you may also use an online notary service such as NotaryCam. Visit the NotaryCam website.
CGFNS requires a self-declaration to provide evidence of your post-registration professional experience within the last five years. Please note you are not required to have post-registration experience/employment to apply. However, if you do have such experience, it will be an important part of your application and will be reviewed by the Department of Public Health Aruba when it considers your application for licensure.
You will be required to provide evidence of your education qualification leading to licensing/registration to practice your profession. This will include education at the following levels:
- Entry-level education (such as associate’s degree, diploma, bachelor of science degree, or postgraduate qualification leading to registration).
CGFNS must receive the following documentation directly from your educational institution. You will be provided with forms you can send to your school to facilitate this process.
- The completed education form (which you will download from the CGFNS Applicant Portal and forward to the school).
- A full academic transcript, which CGFNS defines as a record of the courses you completed, along with credit/clock hours that you received for each course. Transcripts from certain countries/jurisdictions also require supplemental documentation such as:
- Related Learning Experience (Philippines).
- School and university mark sheets (India).
- Diploma supplement (European Union countries).
- Evidence of your clinical experience hours (United States).
- You may be required to have your school provide course curricula.
You will be required to report your initial license/registration to practice in your country of education, along with your current license if that is different. These must be submitted directly to CGFNS by the authorities that issued them. Please note that while you are not required to have a license/registration to apply, it is nonetheless an important credential that will be reviewed by the Department of Public Health Aruba when it considers your application for licensure.
You will have the opportunity to provide evidence of any relevant continuing education that you wish to be considered as part of your application for a license with the Department of Public Health Aruba. Although continuing education is not required to apply, it may be necessary depending on your profession. Providing evidence of relevant continuing education may also help advance your application for licensure.
If you wish to report continuing education, the educational institution in which continuing education was completed must send the following directly to CGFNS:
- The completed continuing education form (which you will download from the CGFNS Applicant Portal).
- An academic transcript, which CGFNS defines as a record of an applicant’s courses taken, along with credit/clock hours that the applicant received for each course.
You have the option of providing evidence of any certification you have received in your profession and that you wish to be considered as part of your application for a license with the Department of Public Health Aruba. You can use the CGFNS Applicant Portal to upload copies of your certifications directly to your CVS-Aruba application. These can also be submitted through the Applicant Support correspondence section.
