Dr. Yair Maimon is an internationally recognized figure in the field of Integrative and Chinese Medicine. With over 30 years of experience in clinical practice, academia, and research, he has made significant contributions to the field. He has worked in various countries, including the United States, Europe, China, and Israel.
Dr. Maimon holds leadership positions within prominent organizations. He is the president of the European TCM Association (ETCMA), which represents TCM associations from 24 countries. Additionally, he serves as the vice president of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies (WFAS). Dr. Maimon worked with the World Health Organization Traditional Medicine (WHO TM) department involved in creating the ICD-11 TM codes, which are internationally recognized codes for traditional medicine practices. Currently, he leads an international steering committee focused on implementing these WHO codes.
Dr. Maimon’s expertise extends to the field of oncology. He served as the director of the complementary medical unit at the Tel Aviv Medical Center for over 15 years, founded and directed an integrative oncology research center at Sheba Medical Center in Israel. His work in integrative oncology was presented in UNESCO and demonstrates his commitment to combining conventional medical approaches with complementary and alternative therapies. Furthermore, Dr. Maimon holds an international patent related to botanicals’ effects on cancer and the immune system, showcasing his contributions to innovative research in the field.
In addition to his clinical and research work, Dr. Maimon is the founder and Dean of the TCM Academy of Integrative Medicine. This institution offers international postgraduate training and education in integrative and Chinese medicine.
