On behalf of the CGFNS Board of Trustees and our staff, it gives me great joy to wish the 27.9 million nurses around the world a happy Nurses Day, Nurses Week, and Nurses Month.

The theme CGFNS chose for 2022 to honor my fellow nurses is: Migrant nurses making a difference in lives around the world, as it captures who we are and what we do, as we assist nurses around the world.

This year marks our 45th anniversary, and CGFNS is proud to have made a difference in the lives of over four million health professionals seeking a new life in a new country, as they faced countless uncertainties and bravely set out on their journeys.

Our celebration of Nurses Day, Nurses Week, and Nurses Month pays tribute to the foreign nurses who have migrated to the U.S. and are making a difference in lives around the world. Tune in to the CGFNS Nursing Podcast and hear the inspirational stories of migrant nurses who overcame challenges and embraced new opportunities as they begin a new life in a new country.

I would like to thank Susan Sanders, DNP, RN, NEA-BC, Chief Program & Learning Officer and team for launching the new CGFNS blog, which captures the theme of National Nurses Month, “Nurses Make a Difference” and honors the many ways that nurses make a difference as trusted advocates, providing quality patient care, and by influencing and shaping health policy decisions.

Today, on the anniversary of Florence Nightingale’s birth, we recognize nurses around the world on International Nurses Day! Today, we honor your service, and we celebrate the difference that you make in people’s lives, each and every day. Today is your day to shine, and CGFNS cherishes the role that we play in helping foreign educated nurses live and work in their country of choice and live their dream.

To nurses everywhere, please join us in the celebration of one another, as I wish you a very Happy Nurses Day, Nurses Week, and Nurses Month!

Best regards,
