May 6, officially marked the beginning of National Nurses Week 2016 country-wide, with this year’s theme “Culture of Safety – It Starts with YOU”. CGFNS International honored the nursing workforce with the launching of a “Clue of the Day”, an interactive email designed to prepare staff and leadership for their participation in the closing event on May 12, 2016, “International Nurses Day”. The informative “clues” provided staff with knowledge on an array of topics in the world of nursing, including information on the history of CGFNS and the nursing workforce. The initiative is part of CGFNS’s new employee engagement program, currently under development, by the Director of Talent Acquisition and Employee Engagement and Development.
On May 12, 2016, CGFNS International’s Board of Trustees President Dr. Michael Bleich, kicked off the International Nurses Day festivities via video conference, from his hometown in Wisconsin. Dr. Bleich praised staff and leadership alike, for the fundamental role they occupy in advancing the international nursing community. Immediately following the introduction, staff was invited to participate in CGFNS Jeopardy which included themes such as: nursing, the nursing workforce and historical background on CGFNS and CGFNS’ nurses. The informative interactive game was well received by all and as an added bonus, frozen treats and soft pretzels were provided to all the staff.
Upon the game’s completion, CGFNS International presented its’ own nurses with an award in recognition for their exemplary commitment to nursing.
